Film laboratory
WFDiF’s Film Laboratory deals with processing of colour and B&W 35 mm and 16 mm film materials.
In production we use both the conventional method of film stock processing as well as the modern Digital Intermediate technology..
Our offer also includes, among others, chemical treatment of negative film images; production of various film copies; editing of negative film images; (analogue or digital) correction of film images; film image writing onto negative film stocks; preparation of sound negatives.
Because of the state-of-the-art equipment available for film processing (produced by, among others, Arri, Autodesk, Photomec, Bell-Howell, Film Lab), operated by top-grade specialists, we ensure extremely high quality of services and products.
The best Polish cinematographers cooperate with WFDiF, including : Witold Adamek, Tomasz Dobrowolski, Paweł Edelman, Andrzej Jaroszewicz, Marcin Koszałka, Jacek Petrycki, Marian Prokop, Andrzej Ramlau, Andrzej Sikora, Witold Sobociński, Piotr Śliskowski, Arkadiusz Tomiak. Bill Butler (“Limuzyna”); Christopher Doyle and Rain Li (“Warsaw Dark”); Rimvydas Leipus (“Farewell”); and Svein Krovel (“Iskyss”) produced their films in our lab.
WFDiF’s Laboratory, as the only one in Poland, has a liability insurance taken out in CIGNA STU SA in respect of lab processing of film negatives owned by ordering parties. The insurance includes damage, destruction or loss of entrusted materials and covers the period of time until a master copy is prepared.
We have a KODAK recommendation in respect of chemical processing of colour negatives and positives. The process is periodically controlled by the KODAK Motion Picture Technology Centre in Chalon (France).
